1990s Dancehall Episode 2
July 10, 2009 03:44 PM PDT
The 90s was a time in dancehall when songs had one-word titles like "Memories" by Beenie Man, "Suspense" by Bounty Killer and "Badmind" by Capleton. Singer Wayne Wonder made his mark on the dancehall world, voicing hit tunes in a prolific manner on many an uptempo riddim. This was a time when the sound clash business was at its apex with the leading artist being Mr. Rodney Price, also known as The Warlord, or Poor People's Governor, or more popularly as BOUNTY KILLER. All you had to do be the best DJ/sound system, especially in Brooklyn where I was at the time, was play the most Bounty - it was that simple. 1 Ready To Ride - Wayne Wonder
